Everything You Need to Know About the New Rip Curl Flashbomb Plus Wetsuit
Everything you need to know about the new Rip Curl Flashbomb+ Wetsuit
After reading this article, you’ll be even more clued-up than John ‘Sparrow’ Pyburne (not to be confused with Jack Sparrow, the pirate), the man behind every Rip Curl wetsuit since 1970.
The Rip Curl Flashbomb+ is literally the warmest wetsuit in the world. Not because it shoots out flames, but because its new E5 Flash Lining neoprene is the best you can get today when it comes to warmth. Impressive, right?
Here’s a quick recap of the Flashbomb+ features – a concentrate of technology designed for surfers who want the best.
New 100% E5 Flash Lining
At Rip Curl, we take our time to get things right. It took us 6 years to develop the Flash Lining, making it the fastest-drying neoprene in the world. Two years later, after three different versions rigorously tested by Rip Curl, we released the E4 Flash Lining.
The development continued, and we managed to reduce drying time even further and increase stretch with the new E5 Flash Lining.
So, if you get your hands on a Flashbomb with E5 Flash Lining, you’re holding the best on the market today. Simply put: the top of the line, the cream of the crop, the Rolls Royce of wetsuits!
So, how is the Flashbomb+ different from a Flashbomb? Simple: the Flashbomb+ is equipped with 100% E5 Flash Lining. This means maximum stretch, even faster drying, and longer sessions in the water.
In short, the E5 Flash Lining is built for cold water. To give you an idea, you could wear a Rip Curl Flashbomb+ 6/4mm to surf in Alaska.
Liquid Mesh Panel
Exclusively developed by Rip Curl, so you’ll be the only one to have it! Pretty cool, right?
Mesh panels (smooth-skin neoprene) are usually less stretchy than double-faced jersey neoprene. But the new Liquid Mesh offers incredible stretch across both the chest and back.
And here’s the kicker: it provides 24% more warmth than double-faced jersey, keeping you protected from wind and cold this winter.
Aquaban Plus Liquid Tape
What’s that? Rip Curl has added a liquid seal to all the external seams of Flashbomb wetsuits. Not only does this enhance protection, but it also maintains stretch and flexibility while adding an extra barrier against the cold.
Flash Lining Tape
We don’t cut corners at Rip Curl – especially when it comes to comfort.
To make sure you never feel that chill when putting on your Flashbomb, we designed the Flash Lining Tape. By incorporating Flash Lining into the internal neoprene taping, slipping into your wetsuit feels like putting on your favorite pajamas.
